Charities:
Each Moonlight Liaisons candle scent creation is named after a woman who I believe is empowered, shows strength and dignity. The modern day goddesses who stand up for what they believe in and show courage in how they move in the world. With that being said, I also believe that whilst we are on this beautiful planet, that we should give as much as we are able to. This can be as simple as a smile, or to simply ask another human “are you ok?”. That’s why I have decided that for each Moonlight Liaisons store purchase , $1 will go to a charity listed below.
These are the current charities that Moonlight Liaisons donates to. We will continue to add more in the future.
Kickstart for Kids: kickstartforkids.com.au
Kickstart For Kids is a South Australian not-for-profit organisation which provides school kids breakfast and lunch through their breakfast program designed for underprivileged children. They service over 360 schools within South Australia, including several regional schools. Studies have shown that kids who don’t eat something for breakfast, can’t concentrate as well, and have less energy as their fed peers resulting in missed learning opportunities, and contribute to being left behind.
Kickstart for Kids has also initiated Kickstart for Kids Period Poverty where 1 in 4 girls miss attending school due to not having access to feminine hygiene products. This creates a systemised under-education for girls, where they may not be able to catch up and disadvantage them for their future. With This initiative, their campaign goal is to raise over $100,000 to help provide 25,000 packs of sanitary pads to over 360 schools.
RSPCA: rspcasa.org.au
RSPCA is the state’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity. RSPCA formed with a mission to protect all animals against cruelty and provide treatment and care for thousands of sick, injured and abandoned animas. The continuous work of the charity includes contributing to cat management systems within Adelaide suburbs, to end recreational Duck Hunting season, revision of the Animal Welfare Act, trying to get rental laws changed in regards to pets in rentals, which unfortunately saw so many animals going into their care they had to, for the first time in 2023 since opening their doors, shut their doors unable to take in any one else; and of course, rehoming and fostering out as many of our furry little friends as possible.
RSPCA is the only charity empowered by state parliament to prosecute animal cruelty and neglect.
Share The Dignity: sharethedignity.org.au
Share the Dignity works on obtaining and distributing as many menstrual products via national campaigns such as Dignity Drives, Dignity Vending machines and their “It’s In The Bag” Christmas Campaign. They partner with over 3000 charities to assist girls, women and those who menstruate to access desperately needed sanitary products. Typically these people include those who are homeless, fleeing domestic violence and doing it tough. Share The Dignity works on ending period poverty in Australia. Their goal is to collect 500,000 period products in 2023 as part of their Dignity Drive I’m March and August. So far Share The Dignity has donated over 3.8 million period products to those who menstruate.
Moonlight Liaisons and her Owner are not personally associated with any charity, other than regular donations, volunteering and adoption of current and future fur children.
